Series Description This Series is a quarterly update that brings a high-level look at developments that impact the government contracting community. From new cybersecurity and supply chain requirements to protests, the industry continues to evolve and the need to understand those developments and their impacts becomes more critical. Fed Pubs and Holland & Knight will bring these timely topics to your desktop (or maybe in-person when we can all see each other in person again). Each session will look at: - Areas of increase regulation and scrutiny; - Cases and protests and how decisions will change; - The intersection of politics and government contracting; and - What to expect in the quarter to come. Join us and get up to speed on the latest. Session Description This quarterly update will focus on the latest developments in contracting and the impact of COVID-19. Topics that will be covered will include: - Excusable delays during a pandemic; - Cost and payment issues when a contract is not fully performed; - Complications due to closed work-sites and quarantine orders; - How Section 3610 of the CARES Act can allow contractors to recover costs to keep staff on paid leave during the pandemic; and - Compliance issues associated with the Defense Production Act. Aside from COVID-19, other changes in the government contracting industry we will discuss include: - CMMC and cybersecurity; - Forthcoming supply chain requirements - New small business regulations; and - The new antitrust strike force.
