Reassessing Supply Chain Risks Under the New Administration
This webinar will provide an overview of hot topics concerning supply chain due diligence, import compliance challenges, and tariff mitigation strategies especially in light of the incoming presidential Administration's focus on higher tariffs. These days, all supply chains are global, and failure to anticipate U.S. regulatory requirements can lead to unsustainable tariff costs, delivery delays and even seizures of merchandise. Learn about the U.S. trade regulations that can have a significant impact on your supply chain. Export Control Fundamentals Under the New Administration
U.S. export controls have shifted rapidly in the last few years, and more changes are expected under the Trump Administration. This webinar will assist you in understanding fundamental concepts related to U.S. export controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Attendees will learn how to spot or identify potential ITAR and EAR compliance risks and will gain an understanding of basic compliance practices and tools for mitigating such risks, including a discussion of potential priorities under the incoming Administration. Learning Objectives: 1. Overview of U.S. Export Controls including (i) relevant agencies and regulations, (ii) basic terminology and buzz words, and (ii) consequences of non-compliance including examples. 2. Basic Concepts for Identifying Risk including (i) export jurisdiction and classification (the Order of Review), (ii) technical data and deemed exports, (iii) prohibited destinations, end users, and end uses; (iv) ITAR registration and ITAR/EAR licensing requirements. 3. Compliance Practices and Tools for Mitigating Risk such as (i) implementing an effective compliance program; (ii) utilizing commodity jurisdiction and classification determinations; (iii) screening and due diligence; (iv) voluntary self disclosures, (v) training and staying up to date. 4.
