Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) are a very onerous set of requirements that apply to certain Government contracts. However, if you are currently performing under flexibly priced and/or negotiated contracts, most of the standards are incorporated through the Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 31 anyways.  Why do contractors fear CAS?  CAS requirements go beyond just the Standards!
