The last six months have seen federal contracts and grants being awarded at “warp-speed” to healthcare organizations. While many of these contracts follow the traditional FAR procurement process, the process also adapted to the circumstances of the pandemic. “Traditional” healthcare organizations found themselves responding to traditional negotiated and commercial procurements as well as a number of cost-sharing, cooperative agreements and OTAs.  As a result of the pandemic, new entrants into the federal market emerged that might not otherwise pursue federal procurements; and possibly not understand the associated compliance risks and financial impacts.  

In the “Compliance for Healthcare Contractors” webinar series, Baker Tilly will discuss compliance requirements across the healthcare continuum.  The series will begin with an overview of compliance risks for government contracts, then dive into the contracting vehicles used by the government to procure healthcare-related services, pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices, and medical supplies. The series will also provide an overview of how research organizations can prepare to receive federally sponsored funding, then address the challenges faced by healthcare companies when trying to comply with strict, and sometimes unfamiliar, government regulations. Finally, attendees will get on overview of VA Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) Contracts, drug pricing and price reporting requirements, and bona fide service fee arrangements and fair market value assessments.
