The Federal Government has fully embraced Agile as an effective software development methodology. The U.S. Digital Services supports the transformation by providing a Digital Services Playbook with one of the key tenets being to build the service using agile and iterative practices. The TechFAR handbook and the GAO Agile Assessment Guide provide best practices for Agile adoption and implementation.

This shift ensures mission critical capabilities are delivered rapidly and will enable programs to adapt quickly to changing requirements as technology evolves. However, many Agencies are behind in adopting acquisition processes and contracts that will allow pure Agile, which becomes a challenge for their contracting partners (“contractors”) to adopt Agile. Contractors are also challenged with planning and scheduling for Agile projects and implementing effective Project Controls and Program Reporting processes. A hybrid project management approach may be necessary to obtain the benefits of Agile with effective Project Controls that meet Program Reporting requirements.

This 3-part complimentary webinar series is designed to teach participants about the following:
  1. Agile Fundamentals & Transitioning to Agile
  2. Agile Planning and Project Management
  3. Project Controls for Agile Projects
