This is session 4 of 7 in the FPS Compliance for Healthcare Contractors Series.

In this session, we will provide an overview of how research organizations can prepare to receive federally sponsored funding. We will discuss critical infrastructure elements that organizations must have or develop to manage federally sponsored funding, including short-, mid-, and long-term options to enhance your research organization, and common pitfalls for new recipients of these funds. We will also share ideas on how your organization can position itself to comply with a new set of regulations in an already highly regulated industry, including considering the impact of the CARES Act on federal fund management.

Learning Objectives:
  • Understand the basic infrastructure requirements that are necessary to accept and manage federally sponsored funding
  • Become familiar with which federal regulations are commonly applicable when receiving these funds
  • Learn to develop general framework to determine whether the investment in compliance with federal requirements is worth the return
