This is session 4 of 4 in the Fundamentals of Cybersecurity and Regulatory Updates Series.

In this session, we will help contractors navigate the Government’s current and future areas of focus in cybersecurity: managing breach and the use of artificial intelligence. We will introduce some of the best practices to implement the cybersecurity requirements in Government contracts, and to assemble an incident response plan to manage breaches if and when they occur. We will conclude the series by talking about AI in the Federal Government, to include a discussion of what guidance currently exists regarding the Government’s procurement of AI, and what is on the horizon.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, students will understand how to approach their incident response strategy, and the best practices when experiencing a breach. Students will also be prepared for the future of cybersecurity requirements, and aware of the unique challenges that accompany the procurement and use of AI.

Cara Wulf is a partner in the Government Contracts & Global Trade practice group at McCarter & English. She focuses her practice on government contracts and regulations. She has extensive experience counseling clients regarding compliance with federal, state, and local public procurement requirements. She also assists in litigation involving bid protests, claims, and other disputes before federal agencies, courts and the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). Cara is a frequent lecturer for Federal Publications on U.S. domestic preference statutes, regulations and executive orders as they apply to the U.S. Government supply chain.
