This is session 3 of 3 in the Tackling Tough Accounting and Pricing Issues 2.0 series.

The USG acquisition cycle tends to be longer and more complicated than the commercial sector.  FAR and CAS introduce requirements for more granularity in our cost accounting and pricing. These requirements breed plenty of confusion and are often miscalculated. Common questions arise, such as:
  • What’s the difference between selling and B&P costs
  • Why does it matter
  • When does selling end and B&P begin
  • Why must all contractors measure B&P according to CAS 420
In this session, we’ll walk through the capture process and relate each selling gate to the applicable regulations.  

Learning Objectives: This session will eradicate the common misconceptions the Government contractor community encounters as we elucidate the applicable contract cost principles and CAS requirements.
