This is session 2 of 7 in the FPS Compliance for Healthcare Contractors Series.

The Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA), the Department of Defense (DoD), HHS, and other federal agencies purchase large quantities of these goods and services, and the contracting landscape that exists to reach these substantial customers is often confusing.  In this session, attendees will learn about the many different contracting methods and a number of the different contract vehicles that the federal government relies upon to procure healthcare and healthcare-related services, pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices, and medical supplies.

Learning Objectives:
  • Learn about the different contract vehicles and contract types the government relies upon to procure healthcare-related products and services, to include the VA FSS program, VA’s Med-Surg Prime Vendor (MSPV) program, DoD’s E-CAT system, and other federal contracts and grants (a deeper dive into some of these contract vehicles and types will take place in additional training sessions that are planned as part of this series)
  • Gain an understanding of the types of healthcare-related products and services that the federal government procures, and which types of contracts they generally rely upon for those procurements
  • Gain a high-level understanding of some of the requirements and opportunities associated with these contract types and vehicles
