This is session 3 of 4 in the FPS Introduction to Cybersecurity Series.

In this session, we will explore the origin and development of the Department of Defense Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).  We will outline the basic structure of CMMC and explore in depth the key terms, practices, and processes to be implemented by contractors. We will highlight some of the ambiguities that still exist in this program and key challenges contractors are likely to face in implementation. We will also provide insight as to the future of the CMMC program and how contractors can best prepare for the coming obligations.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this session, students will be familiar with the basics of CMMC and will be able to think critically about how the CMMC program will apply to and impact their organization. They will be up to date on the developments in the CMMC program and able to identify key steps that should be taken proactively to ensure compliance and avoid liability.
