    Adey Pierce is a Director with BDO’s Industry Specialty Services-Biodefense and Government Contracting team.

    Adey has over 23 years of experience in the biodefense industry, serving most recently as the Director of the Division of Nonclinical Development for the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) within the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). In this role, Adey led the division responsible for model development and non-clinical support and development of medical countermeasures (MCM) against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats, influenza and emerging infectious diseases. Adey directed a team responsible for BARDA’s nonclinical development task orders and managed a portfolio of contractors executing on multiple indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts supporting MCM development. Adey originally joined BARDA as a CBRN project officer and was later promoted to Branch Chief of the Nonclinical Development Network (NDN) Program, where she was responsible for oversight and management of the NDN as a component of BARDA’s Core Services and served as a Level III Contract Officer’s Representative (COR) for all contracts within the Network.
