In August, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) issued over 800 pages representing its Final Rule overhauling the Davis-Bacon Act (DBA). These updates were the first in several decades. The Final Rule affects a number of changes to an already complex law, including updating methods for calculating prevailing wage rates, new enforcement mechanisms, and new worker protections. This program will provide an overview of the DBA’s requirements, with a focus on the DOL’s recent updates to the law, and also best practices for federal contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with the new requirements.

Learning Objectives:
  • Knowledge of existing DBA rules and regulations, as well as the changes that go into effect on October 23, 2023.
  • Accurately classify workers and determine wage rates for covered contracts in accordance with the recent updates to the DBA.
  • Create effective compliance procedures for ensuring compliance with the overhauled DBA.
  • Identify and mitigate risks for monetary penalties due to violations.
