Agenda
9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Arlington, VA
AI and the Semiconductor (CHIP) Industry
  • The U.S. Government has recognized the importance of the AI industry and its significance in the U.S. efforts to maintain technological superiority in CHIP research and development, manufacturing, and practical applications – in the interests of national security.  This is a prescient view by the Government and it has many implications.  An analysis of the U.S. Chips and Sciences Act.
  • The segment is an open discussion of how the AI policy decision affects you and your organization in a worldview of practical opportunities.
Back at the Office.  Where to Start with AI.  A Practical Exercise in developing your AI strategy.
  • Review and/or recommend that  your organization has AI policies
  • Think through and identify areas of work that could use AI (repetitive work, work that could be automated)
  • If you have access to AI tools and systems (e.q. chatbots) continue to gain AI experience by using these tools (in accordance with organizational policies)
  • Keep up to date with what is going on (new developments in the AI industry)
  • Research and brainstorming are two areas of recommended AI use in general
  • Look at the pricing for services that are provided by major AI providers (“rental” time and “transmission” time for cloud related services are two pricing plans)
  • Learn how to create images and graphics for your reports but keep in mind that users continue to report “hallucinations” (false information) from some research “prompts” or questions
  • Prepare a “comparison” chart for major AI providers of features and payment plans as a way to stay current on services
  • If you can, take advantage of the benefits of AI and stay on top of an industry that is delivering productivity and efficiency, costs savings and new ideas to its customers
  • Keep searching!
