Contracts 2900 - Course Overview
In this online course, students will experience the full spectrum of contracting processes and issues by following a supply requirement through all phases of the acquisition life cycle, from acquisition planning through contract close-out. They will apply contracting concepts and techniques to meet customer supply requirements and resolving complex contracting issues.

Critical Thinking Project
Research, analysis, and communication skills are honed through development and presentation of a critical thinking project requiring in-depth focus on one area of contracting.

Simulated Contract Negotiations
Negotiation skills are sharpened through active student participation in two simulated contract negotiations.

Who Should Attend
In this case-based course, students will get the most out of this course if they:
  • Understand basic concepts, terminology, and management of government property;
  • Have some understanding or industry experience with the government contract negotiation process;
  • Have a basic understanding of how the government structures and negotiates performance-based payment agreements.
This 6-week online course can be taken by those in the private sector without earning DAU credit.

The following are prerequisites required for earning DAU credit:
  • CLC 051, Managing Government Property in the Possession of Contractors
  • CLC 056, Analyzing Contract Cost
  • CLC 057, Performance Based Payments
  • CON 170, Fundamentals of Cost and Price Analysis

    University of Dayton School of Law will host an orientation session on Thursday, October 1, 2020 - 6:00-7:30 p.m. Eastern Time to help students and answer any questions they may have.

    Classes begin October 5 and will run three hours each workday, Monday through Thursday, for six weeks:
