The Department of Justice (DOJ) obtained more than $5.6 billion in settlements and judgments from civil cases involving fraud and false claims against the government in the fiscal year ending September 30, 2021. This is the second-largest annual total in False Claims Act history and the largest since 2014.

Leading off our Year-in-Review, we will discuss the most recent False Claims Act settlements. And, for the first time, the Department of Justice will join our panel with the Defense Contract Audit Agency and Blank Rome LLP to discuss the cases, settlement process, and penalties assessed.

Our panel will be presented at the UVA Darden Center in Arlington, VA on November 9, 2022. Those in attendance will be able to discuss with the panel and subsequent sessions over the two days, emerging issues, contractor responsibilities for monitoring, disclosure, and methods of mitigating penalties involving fraud and false claims.

This 2-day conference will address the most recent government enforcement actions and emerging issues related to government contracting compliance, finance, and regulations.

During the conference, hear from and discuss with DCAA, DCMA, DoJ and subject matter experts, the latest developments to include Cybersecurity, Supply Chain sources and restrictions, issues of Commercial Items and CPSRs, other Business Systems & Internal Controls and the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act.
